Risk Management (Live)

Risk management in live trading goes beyond what you set in your strategy. Tradient provides platform-level risk controls to protect your account.

Platform Risk Controls

• Maximum Daily Loss — Automatically pauses trading if daily losses exceed a set amount
• Maximum Drawdown — Stops all strategies if account drawdown exceeds your limit
• Maximum Open Positions — Limits the number of concurrent trades across all strategies
• Maximum Position Size — Caps the size of any single trade
• Kill Switch — Immediately closes all positions and stops all strategies

Best Practices

• Set a maximum daily loss of 2-3% of your account. This prevents a bad day from becoming a disaster
• Never risk more than 1-2% of your account on a single trade
• Start with one strategy. Adding multiple strategies increases complexity and risk
• Monitor your first live week closely. Compare live results to backtest expectations
• Have a plan for what to do if the strategy hits its maximum drawdown
